This product comes with a 18650 lithium ion battery (2200 mAh) which is contained within the product. We do not recommend switching the batteries unless you are a trained electrician.

You can find the power switch underneath the solar panel - it is just a button that you can press to power on the device. Pressing the button once will turn on high brightness mode. Pressing it another time will turn it to low brightness mode. Pressing it a third time will power the light back off, and so on.

The light sensor is contained within the solar panel. If you cover the solar panel with your hand, you'll notice that the light comes on when charged.

We don't recommend our product for flag poles higher than 20-25 feet, unless you are able to mount the spotlight on a fence or wall nearby so that its located closer to the flag you wish to illuminate. If you are using it from the ground, we generally say that 20 feet is the max we recommend

The SS40 has a hard wired battery, which we only recommend be replaced by an experienced electrician or a person familiar with electronics. We are looking at creating a similar product with easily replaceable batteries, but we don't have it available for sale yet.

If any light is detected by the solar panel, the spotlight will not turn on! If you think there is an issue with the light, first leave the solar panel facing direct sunlight for a full day, then bring the product inside and turn on the power in a dark closet to test that it works properly.
